| NYSERDA Announcement |
| July 13, 2009 |
| Description: Last week, we reported on NYSERDA’s planed process for managing stimulus funding requests under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). This program covers energy efficiency, solar thermal, biomass, fuel cells, and small wind projects. Yesterday, NYSERDA formally issued a Program Opportunity Notice (PON) that formally defines the process. PON 0004 provides funding that will pay the full amount, up to $30,000, of an energy feasibility study that is designed to be the basis for a formal request for stimulus grants. This study is not required for the grant application but it sets forth some of the information that will be required in that application (see page 19, Appendix D of PON 0004). Even if you do not need a study, it will be helpful to review this document to identify the type of information NYSERDA will be looking for in the applications.
You should note that this PON only covers funding for studies to support an application. The actual request process for stimulus funding will be issued by NYSERDA later this month. NYSERDA will be issuing an RFP which will be due August 21, 2009. This RFP will be the formal mechanism, for seeking funding. It is expected that the fund that applies to hospitals and non-profits will be $74 million with a maximum grant of $1 million. Page 2 provides additional information. |
